Sharyn Currin

My name is Sharyn Currin I grew up on a farm south of Millmerran. I was teaching at the Toowoomba State High School when I was surprised by a mid year transfer. I originally commenced teaching here through the school year of 1970. I transferred up here from Toowoomba as a high school Home Economics /Science teacher.

At the end of 1972 I married a local grazier and moved out to Consentes to have four children. I educated these kids of ours with Distance Education from Mt Isa, until they all left home. It was then that I came back to teaching here at Julia Creek State School.

Consequently, I have now been teaching for an additional fifteen years, so far.

At present I am the class teacher for the Year 3 to 6 class. A challenge at times but with careful planning it all happens.

Teaching here is always enjoyable because of the wonderful children and school and teaching community.
